In the golden autumn of September, when the osmanthus fragrance fills the air, the Mid-Autumn Festival arrives once again. On the evening of September 12th, th-e International Education School of Suqian University grandly held the "Mid-Autumn Festival Gathering at Suqian University " 2024 Mid-Autumn Festival Welcome Part-y at the University Student Activity Center, celebrating the festive season and welcoming 26 new international students from 9 countries around the world to join the Suqian University family as part of the class of 2024.

The evening officially began with an opening speech by Mr. Tian, the Deputy Secretary of the University Party Committee. On behalf of the university, Secretary Tian extended a warm welcome and sincere blessings to the new international students who had come from afar. He emphasized the significance of the Mid-Autumn Festi-val as an important traditional festival of the Chinese nation, hoping that the international students would feel the warmth of home at Suqian University and spen-d an unforgettable Mid-Autumn Festival with Chinese students.

Subsequently, a Chinese student introduced the origin and rich cultural connotations of the Mid-Autumn Festival to the international students in a vivid langua-ge. From the beautiful legend of Chang'e flying to the moon to the traditional custom of family reunions under the full moon, the international students listened w-ith great interest, gaining a deeper understanding and interest in Chinese culture.

To increase the interactivity and fun of the evening, a Mid-Autumn Festival themed poetry fill-in-the-blank challenge was specially set up. The international s-tudents actively participated, using their wisdom and Chinese language skills to fill in well-known Mid-Autumn Festival poems. This segment not only tested the students' language abilities but also allowed them to more deeply experience the charm and appeal of Chinese poetry.

During the warm moments of the evening, leaders and teachers presented the international students with carefully prepared Mid-Autumn Festival delicacies, inclu-ding a variety of mooncakes, sweet pomegranates, and juicy oranges. As the international students savored the delicious food, their faces were filled with happy sm-iles. They expressed that these delicacies were not only delicious but also made them feel the enthusiasm and care from the teachers and students of Suqian Unive-rsity.

The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the talent show by the international students. They took to the stage one after another, presenting performances w-ith distinctive features, including graceful dances, beautiful songs, and wonderful fashion shows. Among them, the performances of the Chinese classic songs "The M-oon Represents My Heart" and "Full Moon over the West Tower" were particularly enchanting. The international students delivered these classic songs with fluent Chi-nese and heartfelt interpretations, winning rounds of applause and cheers from the audience. Their performances not only showcased the students' diverse talents but also conveyed their love and respect for China.
